Bishop's Visit and Church Feast Celebrated at Church of Christ the Living Savior, Thalawa

The Church of Christ the Living Savior in Thalawa was filled with joy and festivity as the Rt. Rev. Nishantha Fernando, along with other prominent clergymen, graced the occasion with their presence during the much-awaited Bishop's Visit and Church Feast. The event was attended by a multitude of parishioners who warmly welcomed the esteemed guests.

The special gathering was led by the Priest in charge, Rev. Jude Jayamanna, who played an instrumental role in organizing the event. Accompanying him were Rev. Ranajana Laksiri and Rev. Lishni Dilanka, as well as several other priests from the neighbouring parishes.

Thalawa parish holds a special place in the hearts of its people as it houses the beloved Preethi Niwasa orphanage. Founded by British missionary Evelyn Karney, the orphanage has been a symbol of hope and care for countless underprivileged children. Another notable establishment in Thalawa is the Bishop Andrew Kumarage Memorial Centre. This centre serves as a hub for various community-oriented activities, including educational programs, vocational training, and social welfare initiatives. The Bishop Andrew Kumarage Memorial Centre stands as a testament to the late Bishop's unwavering dedication.
