The Church of Christ the Peace Giver in the district of Polonnaruwa, under the Kurunagala Diocese, witnessed a joyous celebration as they welcomed the esteemed presence of Rt. Rev. Nishantha Fernando, the Bishop of Kurunagala. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rev. Ranjana Laksri Karunaratne, the Priest in charge of the church, and Curate Rev. Jude Jayamanna, who actively participated in the festivities alongside Rev. Asoka Wickremage.
The church, though located in a serene rural setting, has fostered a small yet vibrant community of devoted parishioners. The visit of Bishop Rt. Rev. Nishantha Fernando was highly anticipated, and the parishioners, as well as the clergy, warmly welcomed him with open arms.
One of the highlights of the occasion was the confirmation of several new members into the Church. Bishop Rt. Rev. Nishantha Fernando administered the sacrament, and the new members were warmly received into the church community.
Bishop Rt. Rev. Nishantha Fernando also blessed the newly cultivated plantation land of the church.
